Oracle’s October 2026 Critical Patch Update delivers 1,295 security patches addressing 1,209 unique CVEs, as some flaws affect multiple products, and 112 of these patches are rated critical. Fusion Middleware received the most fixes with 206, followed by E-Business Suite with 194, Database Products with 126, and Siebel CRM with 122, among other product families. The most serious flaw, CVE-2026-101767, is an unauthenticated SQL injection in Oracle E-Business Suite that can lead to full takeover of affected instances. Critical flaws in bundled components, including CVE-2025-15467 in OpenSSL, CVE-2026-42779 in Apache MINA, and CVE-2026-59083 in Apache Tomcat, are also remotely exploitable without authentication. None of these vulnerabilities has been reported as exploited in the wild, but the critical ratings, low attack complexity, and public exploit material make prompt patching across all affected Oracle product families essential.

Vulnerability Details
Oracle’s October 2026 Critical Patch Update delivers 1,295 security patches addressing 1,209 unique CVEs, fixing flaws in Oracle code and in third-party open-source components bundled across its product families. The patch count is higher than the CVE count because several vulnerabilities affect more than one Oracle product and are patched separately in each. Of these patches, 112 are rated critical. Oracle Fusion Middleware received the most fixes with 206 patches, followed by E-Business Suite with 194, Database Products with 126, Siebel CRM with 122, Communications with 110, PeopleSoft with 109, JD Edwards with 102, and MySQL with 98. The remaining 228 patches are spread across other product families. Many flaws are remotely exploitable without authentication, and 15 CVEs warrant priority attention given their severity, exposure, or public exploit code.
The most severe flaw, CVE-2026-101767, is a critical SQL injection vulnerability in the Core component of Oracle Application Object Library within Oracle E-Business Suite versions 12.2.3 through 12.2.15, classified under CWE-287 and CWE-306 with a CVSS score of 9.8. The vulnerable web component is reachable in default configurations and processes requests without verifying the sender. An unauthenticated remote attacker can run database commands with the privileges of the primary application database account and escalate to operating system command execution, leading to full takeover of the application and exposure of sensitive business records.
Critical flaws in bundled components carry similar risk. CVE-2025-15467 is a stack buffer overflow in OpenSSL that crafted messages can trigger before any authentication takes place, rated 9.8 by Oracle in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools and MySQL products. CVE-2026-42779 lets attackers bypass a class allowlist in Apache MINA to run arbitrary code in Oracle Managed File Transfer and Oracle healthcare products, while CVE-2026-59083 allows security constraints to be bypassed in the Apache Tomcat component of Siebel CRM Deployment.
Several other flaws can also lead to code execution or data compromise. CVE-2025-48734 in Apache Commons BeanUtils exposes the Java class loader in Oracle Enterprise Manager and Oracle Communications EAGLE Element Management System. CVE-2026-55200 in libssh2 enables heap memory corruption in PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools. CVE-2026-54512 in jackson-databind bypasses type allowlists in products including Enterprise Manager, Siebel CRM, and Agile PLM, while CVE-2022-1471 in SnakeYAML and CVE-2022-34169 in Apache Xalan Java expose Oracle Data Integrator and Oracle Product Lifecycle Analytics to unsafe deserialization and arbitrary bytecode execution.
CVE-2023-43622 in Apache HTTP Server within Oracle WebLogic Server and CVE-2024-47554 in Apache Commons IO within Oracle Hospitality OPERA 5 can exhaust server resources. CVE-2026-2332 enables HTTP request smuggling through Eclipse Jetty in Oracle GoldenGate Stream Analytics, and CVE-2026-4800 allows code injection through Lodash in Oracle Communications Unified Assurance. CVE-2026-54515 lets jackson-databind write ignored properties in Oracle REST Data Services and Oracle Commerce Platform, and CVE-2026-49844 in the Apache Log4j API can produce malformed log output across several Oracle products.

Recommendations
- 01Apply Oracle's October 2026 Critical Patch UpdateInstall the October 2026 Critical Patch Update on every affected Oracle product family without delay, including Oracle E-Business Suite, WebLogic Server, MySQL, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools, PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools, Siebel CRM, Enterprise Manager, Managed File Transfer, and GoldenGate Stream Analytics. Use the Patch Availability Document for each product family, and My Oracle Support Note KA923 for E-Business Suite, to identify the correct fixes for each environment.
- 02Prioritize by Severity and ExposurePatch internet-facing systems first, starting with the flaws Oracle rates as critical and remotely exploitable without authentication:
CVE-2026-101767in E-Business Suite,CVE-2025-15467in JD Edwards and MySQL,CVE-2026-42779in Managed File Transfer and healthcare products, andCVE-2026-59083in Siebel CRM. Address the high severity code execution flaws next, followed by the remaining medium severity issues. - 03Rely on Oracle-Supplied Patches for Bundled ComponentsMany of these flaws sit in third-party libraries such as OpenSSL, Apache Tomcat, Apache MINA, jackson-databind, and libssh2 that ship inside Oracle products. Apply Oracle’s patches rather than manually replacing these libraries, which can break supportability. Use Oracle’s exploitability notes to judge which bundled components are actually exposed in each product.
- 04Enforce Least Privilege and Monitor for ExploitationMinimize the operating system privileges of accounts that run Oracle applications so that a successful compromise yields the smallest possible foothold. Monitor web tier logs and hosts for anomalous requests and unexpected shell processes spawned by Oracle services, including unauthenticated POST requests to
/OA_HTML/AppsTCFServeron E-Business Suite. - 05Apply Oracle's Interim WorkaroundsUntil patches are applied, reduce the risk of successful attack by blocking the network protocols an attack requires and by removing privileges or package access from users who do not need them. Test these changes on non-production systems first, as they may break application functionality, and treat them only as a temporary measure until patching is complete.
